Alexa Routine Setup

Set Up Automatic Prayer Notifications

Follow these steps to let Alexa automatically open Daily Adhan at prayer time.

Step 1: Enable Daily Adhan

Alexa App → More → Skills & Games → Search Daily Adhan → Enable Skill

Step 2: Link Account and Grant Permissions

Tap Link Account → Sign in with Amazon → Allow requested permissions → Complete account linking.

Daily Adhan needs the Alexa Device Address permission so it can save your city, timezone, and prayer schedule. If the permission prompt appears later, approve it and open the skill again.

Step 3: Open Daily Adhan Once

Say Alexa, open Daily Adhan. Wait for Alexa to confirm your setup. This first launch creates your prayer profile and saves your location.

If Alexa says setup is incomplete, open the Alexa app, enable Device Address permission for Daily Adhan, then say Alexa, open Daily Adhan again.

Step 4: Confirm Your Location

After the first launch, visit Manage Profile and sign in with Amazon. Your location and timezone should be visible. If not, enter your city and country manually.

Step 5: Create a Routine

Alexa App → More → Routines → +

Step 6: Choose the Trigger

When this happens → Smart Home → Daily Adhan → Detect → Next

Step 7: Add an Action

Alexa WillCustom → Type Open Daily Adhan → Next

This is the supported routine action for opening Daily Adhan on the selected speaker.

Step 8: Choose the Alexa Device

Hear Alexa From → Select your Echo device

Step 9: Save and Test

Tap Save. Your routine is now ready.

Test by saying Alexa, ask Daily Adhan what is the next prayer. If you hear a setup message, return to Manage Profile and save your location.

Daily Adhan automatically updates prayer times based on your saved location, timezone, calculation method, and daylight saving changes.
Setup not complete? This usually means the skill was linked but Daily Adhan has not received a usable location yet. Open the skill once, allow Device Address permission, or save your city in Manage Profile.
